The Music of Bai People is the minor in the folk songs of the Bai nationality, is called "BaiKu" in Bai People' language, which means "the song of the Bai nationality", widely spread in the region of Bai nationality and closely related to Bai people's daily life. In recent years, the social and academic are more and more concerned of the protection of intangible cultural heritage and cultural industry. As one of the second groups of non-material cultural heritage of nations, the Bai People's Music is impacted by economic globalization and modern civilization like other non-material cultural patterns. The most outstanding place Shilong village, Jianchuan town which being famous for singing and transmitting the Bai People's Music was selected, the inheritable processes of the Bai People's Music in the Shilong village was explored in the paper, to aim at discussing the inheritance mechanism of the folk art of ethnic group through the inheritance mechanism of the Bai People's Music in Shilong village, so as to enhance further development of folk art of ethnic group.In the inheritance process of the Bai People's Music in Shilong village, the factors such as changes of social structure, needs of the times, the dominant role of political power had a great effect on the Bai People's Music. Traditional social structure of Bai People was pregnant with the Bai People's Music. Meanwhile, its special location also provided resources for the social status of the Bai People's Music. The development of the times resulted in modern transformation of the social structure of Bai Nationality. Accordingly, the social function of the Bai People's Music had a variation, from the family education, fields work self-regulation, entertainment by theirselves in the National Festival to as a means of changing people's lives and improving the life quality.
