Media Perspective Of Chinese Modern Drama,

The period from 1907 to 1930 is a significant phase for the emergence and the development of Chinese Modern Drama. Based on the research in Modern Media, this paper starts with the beginning of drama and discusses the changes of Modern Media during the development of Modern Drama. Generally, there are many studies specified in Drama or Media and Modern Literature. However, this paper does the research of emergence and development of Chinese Modern Drama from the viewpoint of Modern Media, which has not been done before very often. The specific structure is as follows:Chapter one discusses the history of Modern Media and the establishment of Chinese Modern Drama. Specially speaking, chapter one states the development of the Chinese ancient Drama and Western classic drama, which happened before the change of Modern Media. This chapter also analyzes the reasons that Drama fits Modern Media by stating that Modern Media is a tool for promotion, a cradle for popular education and a carrier for commercial purposes. In addition, this chapter discusses the impacts that Modern Media has put on Chinese Modern Dram during its development.Chapter Two explains the relations between Modern Media and the Chinese Modern Drama stage and play. The research on the mutual impacts between stage and play is conducted from four aspects with gathering the historical materials of Chinese Modern Drama in the 1920s and the may fourth period. They are the relations between drama stage and play, the relations between modern media and on-stage performance, the relations between modern media and the composition of plays and the relations between Modern Media and the dramatist respectively. The roles that Modern Media has played are also explained.Chapter Three is on the changes of Modern Media and Drama concepts.It shows how the Drama concepts change through the impact of Modern Media.The change is analyzed from the contract of commercialization and anti-commercialization of Chinese Modern Drama,the mainstreams and the alternatives,and the minor act and the public interest.In conclusion,this paper introduces the Modern Media to the research of Chinese Modern Drama and analyzes the beginning and development of Chinese Modern Dram with the research on historical data and the related periodicals and magazines. It also demonstrates the impacts that Modern Media has on Chinese Modern Drama.
