We all know that chromatics is a course that can be used to explore people's rational and creative thoughts by discussing and utilizing the theory on the change of color combination and help people to understand color in a scientific way, analyze color, master the principles of the beauty of color and provides service for the design aims. Its development is based on decorative chromatics, art psychology, composed chromatics, painting chromatics and design.To a large extent, art design differs from painting. It's a combination of utility value and aesthetic value. It should present the unity of science and aesthetics and that of techniques and art. How to make color training be the basic training of art design not only the training of presentation of the emotions, which is a key problem needing solution in the course of teaching.There are two kingdoms in the study of chromatics. One is the necessary kingdom based on science and reasons and another one is a freedom characterized by emotions.In modern art design, should a designer focus on the master of the color on reasons or the feeling of freedom? In the course of training the designers, should the emphasis be put on the principles of color and physical property of color or.on the training of the expression of feeling in color?The argument between the reason and emotion is long-standing. However, the acknowledgement is in a developmental situation. The consensus of the unity of reason and emotion and the opposite of that tends more mature.Art design, as a new art science, should pursue the best combination of reason and emotion. The art design should be both rational and full of emotions, lightening and enlivening. Therefore, the knit combination of science and art can be showed in its own special way. In the course of the color teaching, the emphases on the common exist of reason and emotion on the one hand can guarantee the aims and directions of the training methods and content, on the other hand can avoid the unnecessary course. The rational thought can be an effective method or instrument to direct the practice and thoughts of art design. However, in terms of artistic presentation, the manifestation of personality leans to emotions. The sense of color can not be solved by rational thoughts but the result of long-term art cultivation." nobody admit that one can strangle personality and creations, however, in the course of color teaching, one would worry that the absence of personality can influence the system of color teaching. "The focus of this problem lies in there should be a proper choose and balance between the knowledge of color and rational thoughts of color and the training of free creation. Actually, there are conflicts and complementariness between these two aspects.There is no strict criterion between reason and emotions. The proportion of these two in different developmental art design learning stages should be claimed:the rational and emotional thoughts should be present from the beginning of art design learning to the more developmental stage.These two aspects play different roles in different stages. At the beginning, it is very important to analyze color in a rational thought and proper creation and personality used in the course may be more successful. The personality and creation is a key point for a successful art designer. A real master is always the one who breaks the boundaries of rational and emotional thoughts and use them easily and freely.
