Aiming at the situation that strong offensive animation shocked the native consciousness of domestic of animation, and the animated cartoon that manifests the national spirit to revitalize Chinese animation is badly needed. Based on traditional Chinese culture and on the main form of expression with literati painting, the ink-animation shows the depth and breadth of traditional culture; and the downturn of domestic animation now is mainly due to the lack of traditional culture. So only root in native culture, take the traditional Chinese culture and Chinese self-renewal spirit into animation, and bring the spirit of the times to traditional culture could; revitalize Chinese animation. The restudy of ink-animation that combines traditional culture with times spirit perfectly has a great significance of revitalizing domestic animation, rousing native consciousness and inheriting the Chinese civilization. This paper mainly discusses the unique aesthetic taste of ink-animation and its cultural connotation.This paper includes four chapters. The introduction and chapter one mainly expatiate the special period background and social significance of ink-animation. This ancient ink painting is not able to be active on rice paper without the progress of science and technology, it is the science brings a new life to ink painting and makes it shines with its particular native fascination. What's more, there is a close relationship between the birth of ink-animation and the whole environment that Chinese animation artists explore native animation style. The successful production of a series of native topic animation evokes the passion for the study of ink painting. The birth of ink-animation has a gigantic social significance, which established the international status of China animation art's Chinese School. It's an effective approach of inherit and develop traditional Chinese culture under, the new times.Chapter two and chapter three are the body section of the paper. Taking the examples of ink-animation Reed Pipe and Landscape Emotions, it gives a detailed description and analysis of the aesthetic taste and the cultural connotation in ink-animation. Then the conclusion is that the animation not only brings the aesthetic feeling to audience, but also should focus on the humanism and philosophizing in it. Ink-animation unites the ancient traditional Chinese cultures, mixes the most fascinating traditional Chinese cultural elements, the harp, the chessboard, the hand-writing and the painting together, produce a virtual and pure mind spiritual world for the framework of intense humanistic story and the soul with the thoughts of Confucianists, Taoist and Buddhists. Different from the traditional way of drawing the outline and pigmentizing, the ink-animation quoted the local Chinese ink painting, expresses particular Chinese cultural spirit, aesthetic ideal and artistic interest with fully usage of ink's level changes on the rice paper. Compared with former animation styles, ink-animation has its own aesthetic taste with its particular formal beauty, contextual beauty and metaphorical beauty. Besides its special aesthetic enjoyment, ink-animation contains traditional Chinese philosophical spirit. It blends the Rites and Music of traditional Chinese Confucian, the Spirit-Nature of Zen Buddhism and the Taoist thought harmony between man and nature into animation cartoon's storyline. It becomes the point of Chinese cultural knowledgement more than its entertainment and enrichment for children, and gets a progress with human spiritual realms.Chapter four and the conclusion mainly expatiated the current situation of ink-animation, the reasons for drowsiness and its future development tendency. Ink-animation's high cost of production made merchants abandon it on the driven of benefits and turn to other commercial animations with less investment and high profits. On the other hand, a huge number of foreign animations came into the domestic market because of the open-door to the outside world. That dismissed the domestic animation and native culture greatly, the original animation producer reduced to animation processor, which caused the weakness of original production. At last but not least, the computer tools for ink-animation didn't make progress together with the times. All this made the current situation. Only by the way of rooting in traditional culture and depending on the power of technology can solve the problem of ink-animation's production cost. It should be balanced technology with culture, and keep it highly developed, then the ink-animation will usher in a beautiful spring.
