Xizai Literary Criticism Thought

Liu Xizai (1813-1881) was an outstanding art critic in the late Qing Dynasty, whose work is related to philosophy, literary criticism, phonology, and education, of which "Yi Gai" is the most important book. Liu Xizai's" Yi Gai "is on the basis of Chinese predecessors,"illustrating what predecessors have been issued, extending predecessors previously unknown",and following the "Wen Xin Diao Long",this made "Yi Gai" become another general theory book of traditional art.In recent years, academic study about Liu Xizai and his works is very broad, but Liu Xizai's literature and art criticism is the lack of a comprehensive and systematic study. This paper attempts to try philosophy, literary theory, aesthetics, comparative literature, history, literature, science methods,to make Liu Xizai and his art criticism more systematic and comprehensive,and to reveal the main elements of the thought.for understanding his theory comprehensively, this may have some significance.This paper argues that thinking of Liu Xizai's literary and art criticism is based on Confucian and "dao",by the means of Liu Xizai's literature and teaching notes the paper tries to analyze the underlying idea behind the literary and artistic thought, discover his ideology about the subject of criticism, the object of criticism and methods of criticism, and to elaborate on the logical relationship between the tight.In short, Liu Xizai is one person who made a conclusion about ancient Chinese literary and art criticism in the history, in the true sense also a terminator of ancient Chinese literary and art criticism.
