Kun opera exists for more than six hundred years as classic acoustic art in China, which was created to be one of the singing performance with rigorous rhythm, complete format, attractive and marvelous echo after the transformation executed by Liangfu Wei since 16th century, and a range types of opera and local dramas were influenced and nourished a lot from Kun opera. Since half century passed by, after the continuing referring and absorbing the advantages from bel canto,one serious question raised that how we could keep the Chinese national character in Kun opera, though, knowing that national vocal(Academicism hereby), which developed and flourished on the basis of Chinese traditional vocal, has such a tight relationship with Kun opera."Five female roles" compose the main part for female role of Kun opera, which is one of very the range that could extremely manifest the specification of the tune type Liquid honing which is melodious and euphemistical,and nearly all of the Kun opera skills are involved in the "Five female roles".Not only the "Five female roles" keep the character of Kun opera, but also get the specific rhyme scheme of its own involved, such as the singing and articulating, pronouncing and decorating, story interpreting and stage performing which bring lots of significant direction and reference to national vocal.The chapter "You yuan" in "Peony pavilion" is the very example of Kun opera which flourished on the stage for hundreds of years, thus became the essential class for nearly all of the students who engaged in female roles and almost every new pupil of Kun opera as well as the author of this article who gets quite a bit of experience and inspiration from it.Comparing with the collected chapters of Kun opera is the main measurement for the investigation of the paper hereby. Material collection includes the reorganization and analysis of the ancient literature about the vocal, as well as the modern information of the theories, sound visual and scores. Concurrently collecting and analyzing the materials above, author mostly learnt the performance of the "Five female roles" stringing along with Mr. Weidong Zhang who is the master of Kun opera, sought after the performance skill basing on the intensive studying and deep personal realization, concluded the difference between national vocal and the "Five female roles" in Kun opera according to serious observation, deliberation and analysis, and summarized the whole studying at the end.Basing on the research about "Five female roles" of Kun opera and integrating the author's professional knowledge and experience, the paper hereafter aimed at the investigation about the skill of the "Five female roles" in Kun opera, the indication the difference of performance between the "Five female roles" and the national vocal, as well as the inspiration for national vocal, and this brings the positive attitude to enriching the color of national vocal, measurement of performance and didactics.Kun opera is a significant symbol of China traditional vocal,which covers abundant of theories and experience in performance,however, there is seldom investigation for the "Five female roles".This paper hereafter was expected to contribute to the research of the "Five female roles" with the perspective of attracting more and more national vocal students to pay much attention on the study of China traditional vocal and to be inspired from it.
