Music And Dance Of The Gods - Jiangxi Wuyuan Length Exorcise Morphological Parsing Of Folk Culture And Its Ritual Music Study

Exorcism Dance in Changjing village of Wuyuan county of Jiangxi Province is now the only organization survived in the local folk and held exorcism dance ceremony annually. And also this kind of dance is well-preserved at home. Changjing dancing group is one of groups capable of performing ceremonies. In 2005, Wuyuan Exorcism Dance by Changjing village has made international audiences feel amazing during the International Exorcism Dance in Jiangxi province which caused more and more people to know about it. In 2006, Changjing exorcism dance as Wuyuan exorcism dance representatives of success was awarded the first state-level non-material cultural heritage projects. So far, Wuyuan exorcism dance group has the huge impact on society as well as the close connection with our time. The problem is, however, no enough academic research have been done until now,and such dance has been neglected for long time. Now only history reviews and introductory articles are available, few research papers with regard to existence and performance of Changjing exorcism dance have been published. The study of music culture is much less. The author hopes to make a breakthrough in the study by overall research in systematic way.The author has made on-the-field investigation five times altogether, collecting literature reviews and audio-visual materials about the description of village ethnography; family history; survival condition and the process of performance, taking the note of folk culture, which not only gathered the present living materials but also built important foundation for further research.This paper elaborates theories in detail from many aspects on the basis of living materials, including exorcism culture tradition; origin relationship of Changjing exorcism dance; geographical and humanistic environment of its existence; current situation of the Changjing Group; performing steps and regional culture about exorcism dance's performance. In addition, this paper also study acoustic effects and functional description; form analysis of"intimate music"as well as analyses of cultural significance on some roles and music instruments. From the multidimensional perspective and with integral research strategy, this article is going to write history, present situation and future development of Wuyuan exorcism dance by Changjing village combined with many others research methods in folklore, sociology, ceremony study to try to manifest the essence of folk as a whole.
