On The First Exploration Of Mao Zedong On The Road Of Socialism With Chinese Characteristics

Mao Zedong is not only the founder of the People's Republic of China, but also is the ideolgical pioneer who explored the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Although Mao did not put forward the issue about the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics formally, he had done a series of groundbreaking explorations on the road of socialism which is suitable for China's national conditions in 1950s. Based on such conditions of Chinese backward economy and culture, Mao put forward many creative thinking about what is socialism, how to build and develop socialism undertaking difficult exploration, which are the explorations in advance for the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Along with the 1956 socialist transformation completed, China began to enter into the historical period of the full-scale construction of socialist. While what kind of way Chinese socialist construction should choose, how to build, consolidate and develop socialist, had become the primary historical subject that Mao Zedong and the whole party was facing. Before and after the socialist transformations basically completed, especially when the flaws of Soviet systematic which we had been copied and drew lessons from increasingly exposed, facing the complex situation, Mao Zedong decisively advocated that they should explore the road of socialist construction that suited to China's national conditions. From 1956 to 1976 when Mao Zedong died, the 20 years is the entire historical period that Mao Zedong's exploring the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics, which experienced the coexist of positive results, success and faults and three stages which led to go astray. Although the process of exploration was full of contradiction and happened serious mistakes, Mao Zedong can still be a great man who blazed a new trail of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In that period, he published "on ten relationship", "on the correct handling of contradictions among the people", "working methods 60 (draft)" and other important works, which shows the light of his knowledge about construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics. On the aspect of Chinese industrialized road, socialist economic system reform, the social development stage, the problem of socialist society, the party's construction and so on many issues, Mao Zedong had been made beneficial exploration and achieved great achievements.The process of Mao Zedong's exploration is great but hard for us, leaving us not only precious historical experience but also somber lessons. In the new period, we come across many practical problems, pretty much part of that were Mao Zedong had encountered and solved. For the successful experience we got from Mao Zedong's answer to these questions, we must absorb, carry forward and develop. But for the lesson of his mistakes, we should take warning. Therefore, for the answer to the realistic problems that encountered today in construction, Mao Zedong's first exploration is a good reference which provides important ideological basis and theoretical sources for our party to re-explore the road of socialism and form system of socialism with Chinese characteristic.
