In Early Modern China Cohort Study Of Students In Japan

The group of early Modern Chinese students studying in Japan was the first group of CPC which in the late 19th. These Chinese young intellectuals existed in the dramatic hisorical period, which made them construct the unique characteristics in knowledge structure, political beliefs and ideological transformation process. This group occupied the pivotal position in the propagation history of Marxism, and they were the backbone in the procession of the "Japanese way "of Marxism propagation. This group had made a lot of contributions in the May Forth Culture Movement as the prophets illuminati, who anticipated the awakening of the Enlightenment by propagating the large amount of new thoughts, and advanced culture to Chinese people. Most of them had made the great efforts to the early activities of CPC and the undertaking of PRC. some of them even became the leaders of the early CPC. However, for various reasons, many of them were moved away from the Chinese communism career that they had created several years ago, some of the members even went to it's opposite. The group of early Modern Chinese students studying in Japan and their historical activities did not only changed the path of the CPC's development, but also deeply influenced the Chinese history in 20th century. The research to this unique group can help us clearly understand the "Japanese way" of the Marxism propagation to the Chinese, have a new perspective to the early CPC members, assess the early CPC members, and also provide the new judgment criteria to their historical merits and flaws objectively.The article is written as the perspective of early Marxism propagation, as the main object of the group of early Modern Chinese students studying abroad in Japan. This paper based on the literature analyse and the comparative study, carefully combs the structure characteristics, main historical activities and main merits of the group. Furthermore, this paper tries to analyse this group's historical flaws objectively. Currently, the academia has not the direct monographs to this subject. Under this situation, this article tries to provide the objective evaluation of this group by the data analysis based on the collection of the large amount of relative literature materials.This thesis is divided into four parts. Part 1 is the first two chapters. This part briefly discusses the paper's research significance, research status, group members' thought evolution process and so on. What's more, this part analyzes the group's historical background, and clearly makes the concept of this paper's main research objection. Part 2 is the third chapter. This part researched the group's native place, age composition, occupational composition, knowledge composition and the thought evolution procession comparatively, so as to understand this group's characteristics initially. Part 3 is the forth chapter. This part summarizes and reviews the merits of this group, such as the merits of the May Forth New Culture Movement, the modern education in China, Marxism propagation in the CPC's establishment and so on. In addition, this part fully confirms this group's significant historical value. Part 4 is the fifth chapter. This part tentatively analyzes this group's defection, and discusses the specific reasons of their defection, such as the discrepancy of political belief, the differences of the political views, the individual reasons and other objective conditions. What's more, this paper analyses the group's historical limitation, such as the theoretical cognition of the Marxism more than practical ones, the preparation shortage in Party's established period, and the misunderstanding of Marxism classical works.In conclusion, this paper objective analyses the background, the establishment procession, the group characteristics, and the historical status of the group of early Modern Chinese students studying in Japan in the late 19th. This subject studies can help people enrich the methods of the History of CPC research, objectively cognize the early CPC members' history merits and flaws, and cognize the "Japanese way" of Marxism propagation to China clearer.
