From Discourse Ethics To Discourse Democracy

Habermas’ s philosophy and political ambition started from the theory of communicative action, reconstructing constitutional democratic state through mutual understanding of language, and establishing discourse democracy mode. This paper expounds the relation between discourse ethics and discourse democracy on the ideological basis of the theory of communicative action, interprets the process from discourse ethics to discourse democracy. Habermas’ s thought of political philosophy originated in the modernity crisis’ s background, legalization deletion leads to crisis of political system, so it should be through rational communication and dialogue to reach a consensus of discourse, then effectiveness requirement of discourse is promoted to the social ethics level,coming into being discourse ethics. Discourse ethics is an extension of the theory of communicative action in the moral field, is a bridge to the discourse democracy. And discourse democracy is practice bounded degree of the discourse ethics, discourse ethics is the moral basis of discourse democracy, discourse democracy achieves discourse ethics. However, discourse democracy theory is difficult to avoid itself limitations and narrow mindedness, need to rethink in the basis of criticism.
