A Study On Long - Term Care Of The Elderly In China

In the wave of global aging silver background, the trend of China’s aging population has become even more serious.With the economic transformation, urbanization process, increasing of female employment rate, family structure miniaturization also with the implementation of the national family planning policy for a long time, the number of empty nest old man are increasing rapidly. Modern life and the deterioration of working environment has also led to number of the disabled elder increased, with the consequent the need of disability long-term care also increasing. And the aging of our country also has "old before getting rich" features It is more difficult to provide higher levels of long-term care for disabled elders.So,the problem of disabled elder long-term care has caused the wide attentions of related scholar and government department,In this paper,based on the definition of disability and long-term care of the elderly, describes the current long-term care of the elderly disability three modes: home care, community care, institutional care. With use of welfare pluralism theory as a support, analysis of China’s current long-term care of the elderly disability status and typical patterns, noted that the current long-term care of disabled elderly problems and their causes. Combined with our current conditions, learn from the advanced experience of foreign countries. With defined the risk of long-term care for disabled elderly, to analyze the main responsibility for long-term care system, specifically our government functions, and provide a theoretical basis and practical significance basis to improve long-term care service of disabled elderly.
