Research On The Long-term Care Of Disabled Elderly In Kunming Under The Institutional Pension Model

With the gradual deepening of China's population aging,the trend of aging advanced population and disability is intensifying,which will not only result in some social problems like the decline of the proportion of social labor population and the increasing difficulty in getting rid of poverty,but also will be a big test for the old-age function of a family or even an area.How to provide a better way of caring for the elders in their later years is a problem that we have to solve in our society today.Compared with healthy elderly,disabled elderly are more dependent on other people's assistance and professional medical support because of their lack of independent living ability.With the gradual degradation of family function in traditional sense,the continuous development of the endowment pattern in China and the deepening of the integration of "medical care",the mode of institutional endowment will undoubtedly become the best choice for the disabled elderly in the long term.Therefore,a systematical study to the care situation of disabled elderly in the institutional pension mode is very important for the construction and development of the whole pension system.This paper first makes a holistic study of the related care of disabled elderly at home and abroad,as well as the development of institutional endowment mode,and summarizes the related areas and contents that have been covered in the long-term care research of disabled elders.And then takes the development of the Kunming institutional pension model and the overall situation of the disabled elderly as the point of penetration to analyze and summarize the overall situation of Kunming.On this basis,the author interviewed two different types of disabled elderly care providers and disabled elderly in Kunming to get the first-hand materials of the current situation of disabled elderly care in Kunming under the mode of institutional endowment.After analyzing the interview situation of the development of the endowment institutions,feedback of disabled elders,it can be easily found that there are still some problems in Kunming's disabled elderly care under the mode of institutional endowment: first,the attention paid to the disabled elderly population is not enough;second,the industry of pension agency lacks regulatory channels;third,disabled elder's degree of satisfaction is not high;fourth,it's difficult for private pension institutions to develop;fifth,professional nursing personnel are not enough.In terms of the problems above,the author put forward the following six suggestions based on the actual situation of the development of the pension industry in Kunming: first,strengthen policy support;second,improve the regulatory mechanism of the industry and enhance the level of information disclosure;third,improve the formal care level of pension institutions;fourth,establish high-quality nursing teams;fifth,enhance the level of informal care;sixth,expand the support of commercial insurance.
