Kangxi 's Administrative Ethics And Its Modern Value

The Chinese nation is possessed with excellent cultural resources. And the essence of its administration ethics thought can be dig out in the long history run, which is of great importance to the construction of the administrative ethic discipline and the solutions of the emerging issues in the period of social transition. What is more, abundant administration ethics thought could be found in the administrative practices of ancient times.With the longest years’ rule in the late feudal society, Emperor Kangxi formed a productive system of administration ethics thought during the practices. And it played an important role both in restoring the orders of feudal ethics and stabilizing politics in the early Qing Dynasty. The system even works in modern society.Starting with relative concepts on administrative ethics, this thesis discusses the formation of Emperor Kangxi’s administration ethics thought. It is mainly centered on three perspectives: the virtue of lord, the supervision of officials and the well-being of the people, which is also explained in combination with the administrative practices. At last, the thesis summarizes the features of administration ethics thought and points out its modern values in strengthening individual moral cultivation, constructing harmonious ethic orders, shaping public administration culture and setting up people-oriented livelihood.
