| This thesis is a findings report on Electronic Ceramic factory of Hongming Electronics Industry Company. It includes following 5 parts: chapter one, basic situation; chapter two, analysis of macroscopic environment; chapter three, analysis of industry environment; chapter four, analysis of present conditions of Electronic Ceramic factory; chapter five, development strategy of the Electronic Ceramic factory. Chapter one Basic Situation. The Electronic Ceramic factory of Hongming Electronics Industry Co. is the major production factory of domestic ceramic capacitors and one of specially designated factories of national military electronic components, mainly producing and developing disk, tubular and other ceramic capacitors. Now it is the sole domestic factory with whole production process including ceramic materials-ceramic parts—metallized electrodes—ceramic capacitors. Varieties and specifications of its products cover whole IEC series of ceramic capacitors with various temperature characteristics. Its product include following 5 major varieties: low-voltage, medium-and high-voltage, alternating current and high-voltage, Ⅲ class ceramic and military capacitors. It is one of the mainly developed 3 pillar products of the company. The factory has realized transform from military product to civil one with military-civil product combination. In the middle 1980s accompanying the step to domestifying colour TV sets the Electronic Ceramic factory had made considerable progress in the implementing of domestic streamlined production of colour TV sets and the market setup based on making a complete set of colour TV sets was formed. Entering the middle and late 1990s with price dropping of colour TV sets and over-competition in colour TV set industry, the prices of assembling components for colour TV sets had been dropping continuously, and annual average drop margin was over 30 per cent. By 1998 deficit began to be incurred in the enterprise,and in 1999 the deficit was up to more than 1.8 million yuan. The fund turnover of the factory was very small and its business conditions became worse and worse. Chapter two Analysis of Macroscopic Environment. The electronic components in the world are situated in an unfavourable position in structural adjustment of investment products, consumptive and basic products of the electronic information industry. The growth rate of electronic components is less than average growing rate of electronic industry, market share of components in electronic industry drops. Owing to product cost and its market, the electronic appliance factories and component factories are transferring production and sales to the Asian-Pacific Region, which promotes the development of electronic industry in the Asian-Pacific Region, and at the same time, sharpens competition in this region. The economic recovery measures stimulated by increasing money supply and increasing investment in national economic policy have been successful and have promoted the demand of investment electronic products market and the rise of consumption electronic market. In "The Ninth Five-Year Plan of National Economy and Social Development and Long-Range Object Program" the Communist Party and People's Government take project of new devices and components as a key point in development of electronic industry. Therefore, important development opportunity appears in the industry. With China's entry to WTO and speeding up integration step of global economy, the large foreign companies and corporations enter into China's markets, competition will become sharper and sharper. Powerful national defence is an important guarantee of safeguarding state sovereignty and safety as well as basic condition of national economy development. Because of unoptimistic international safe environment and lag of China's defence construction ,and of technological progress, the expenses for national defence are increased and demand for military products is great.
