During the 1990 , the U. S economy has experienced a ten years long period of sustained expansion. Strong iow ?inflationary growth, low unemployment, high labor productivity and indistinct business cycle are the remarkable characters of New economy. As a new type of technology ?economy paradigm, the notion of a ew Economy?is closely tied to the effects of technological progress, particularly associated with the diffusion and the push of information and communication technology (ICT). The United States has well functioning financial system especially by far the most developed venture capital market, Which is effective in facilitating the development of ICT sector. Venture capital has play a key role in the financing new, innovative enterprises and high ?tech industries, and accelerates the formation of New economy as well. The success of venture capital in nurturing the growth of the US ICT industry has led to efforts in other countries to stimulate venture finance. By analyzing the development condition of venture capital, and U. S government policy support and finance system innovation, this study examines the role of venture capital in the development of New economy and its reference to our country.
