Due to geographical, historical and many other reasons, there has been a big difference, which trends to be even bigger, between the East Part and the West Part of China in economical development For this reason, the Government has started to carry out across-the-board a stratagem of "Greatly Developing the West" this year Under such a background, the thesis intends to expound, through a study on the relationship between highway construction and regional economical development, the catalyzing and magnifying effects of highway construction on economical development of the West so as to solve the bottleneck problem in economical development of the West Based on the above substance, the thesis carries out analyses mainly on the following aspects: (1) Highway construction and inversion capability of regional industrial structures, highway construction and improvement of regional conditions as well as basis for enterprise site selection As far as the regional development is concerned, the author thinks the action of highway construction on economical development of the surrounding area lies in two aspects: the first is promoting increase of total economical output; and the second is promoting improvement of industrial structures Combined with practical cases, the influence of highway construction on enterprises within and beyond the region is analyzed from the enterprises' point of view and a theory on enterprise site selection is put forward (2) An analysis is carried out on present situation and existing problems in the west areas, especially in Shaanxi Province It is put forward that the breakthrough point of economical development of the West is to energetically develop road traffic and to improve regional conditions (3) Assumption on countermeasures It is pointed out that financing with multi-channel and multi-angle is the key point to solve capital problems in speeding up road traffic development Methods on financing with multi-channel and multi-angle are discussed in the thesis "Road leads the great development of the West" is the conclusion of the thesis combining theory with practice, which intends to remind people of paying great attention to the action of road construction on regional economy and speeding up road construction in the West...
