The operating objective of an airline is to seek the maximum profit. To achieve it, an airline can adopt two methods: One is to increase the revenue and the other is to reduce the production cost. The content covered in this thesis falls into the category of production management whose target is to efficiently, flexibly and punctually manufacture defect-free products at the lowest possible cost or to provide the satisfactory service. This thesis also presents detailed discussion to the domestic civil aviation maintenance enterprises being placed in the context of the current environment on how to strike a balance between reducing the cost of maintenance and introducing the advanced management methods targeting at improving the production efficiency in terms of the interrelationship between the system optimization and cost control. The following are the main points:1. To facilitate production management and reduce maintenance cost by optimizing the maintenance program and adopting the advanced Maintenance Steering Group and reasonable Work Break-down Structure.2. Stressing on the importance of the production capability management, to organize and adjust the available production capability based on the assessment of the production capability of one's company.3. To develop the maintenance plan so as to make the best use of the available manpower, facility, equipment and technology resources and4. To establish the reasonable Production Action Planning by means of Gantt ChM and PERT in an effort to reach the goal of balanced production.
