The geopolitics has witnessed the sequential evolvement of academic schools, such as "the Theory of State's Spatial Expansion ", "Sea-power Theory", "the Theory of Geopolitik", "the Theory of Heartland", "the Theory of Rim-land", "the Theory of Eurasian Chessboard", "the Theory of Geopolitical Region" and "Regionalism" in the whole historical background. In the dynamic analysis of theoretical form of those different geopolitical academic schools, the author summed up and put forward "the Theory of Geopolitical Center", of which is being used, through the recapitulative analysis of so-called "the Theory of Geopolitical Center", to educe geopolitical analytical method and relevant arguments-"the Theory of Geopolitical gravity", for analyzing the geopolitical status of China in Asia. And then, from the angle of view of "the Theory of Geopolitical Gravity", this thesis analyzed the geopolitical status of gravity of China in Asia and especially in East Asia, through the analysis of natural geographical position and relevant anthropogeography, and the relevant analysis of China's geopolitical status of western geopolitical analysts and scholars. Then, in the aim of further substantiating the theoretical hypothesis of "the Theory of Geopolitical Gravity", the author analyzed China's geopolitical status of gravity according to matter of fact in historical background of three different consecutive historical Ages -ancient, modern and contemporary history of China. According to the changing geopolitical, geo-economic and security situation in the post Cold War era, this thesis paid much more importance in analyzing China's geopolitical status of gravity in the following three aspects as: Asian, especially East Asian regional strategic pattern; China's geopolitical, geo-economic and cultural relations with surrounding medium and small countries; and East Asia's regional integration. As a logic result, the thesis made subsequent propositions about China's strategic choice in fulfilling its geopolitical status of gravity in Asia and especially in East Asia.
