Alienation is one of the most important categories of Marxism philosophy. Marx's concept cf alienation shows man's dilemma in living: the dehumanized condition in which man is controlled by things belonged to himself or created by himself. Marx not only criticizes the alienation phenomenon but also explores its cause successively in several of his works. This paper aims to analyze the deep reason of alienation.Till today, human being still has not got rid of the influence of alienation in living. Alienation becomes a major starting point to understand modern man. Therefore, alienation issue becomes a heated discussing topic in the whole philosophical world in the 20th century. Western Marxists carry on Marx's research on alienation issue and develop it. They hold that the alienation issue has not been solved in the 20th century. On the country, the degree of alienation has been deepened and the boundary broadened. Based on Marxism's alienation theory, western Marxists criticize alienation phenomenon in all aspects and discuss its cause in order to seek ways for human to get rid of alienation. Marx has said that the elimination of alienation and alienation is in the same way. So, we should regard the source of alienation as a critial factor when we try to master the problem of alienation. Furthermore, thinking of the source of alienation is a key to the problem. Western Marxism have think deep about this problem. The discussion about this problem will do good to us while we are facing the situation of people's existence. It is theoretical and practical meaning.This paper tries to make profound analysis of the cause of alienation by means of dialogue by Marx and western Marxists. Thus western Marxists' brilliant ideas could not be covered by Marx's prestige. In such a peaceful talk, we direct the discussion of the theme to the greater depth.
