The Relationship Between China And Pakistan (1951 -1971)

It has been over fifty years since China established diplomatic relations with Pakistan in 1951 . During these years , the relations has become all-day friendship and all-field cooperation relations, and become the model that different ideological countries got along . But, it was not so in the past, especially from 1951 to 1971 , which had a slow development because the two countries were not the emphasis in each diplomatic strategy after establishing foreign relations in 1951 . After making an ally with America in 1954 , Pakistan took an adverse attitude to China under the impact of American policies to China , and the relations between China and Pakistan began to decline . In 1958 , Ayub came to power in Pakistan , who took a policy which extremely intimated America and opposed China during the Pre-Ayub years , which made the relations between Pakistan and China bottom out. However , the ally didn' t dispel Ayub' s anxieties from India . America still had friendly relations with India in some extent , which made Ayub felt depressed . Ayub decided to adjust Pakistan foreign policies to improve Pakistan-China relations . The war between China and India in 1962 made Pakistan understand Chinese true attitude to South-Asia . At the same time , China began to take more friendly attitude to Pakistan because of the need of situations . China -Pakistan relations were improved quickly after the war in 1962 , andgot to the summit during the second war between India and Pakistan in 1965 ------China gave great support to Pakistan by the way that sending two ultimatums to India . Regretfully , Ayub didn' t show satisfaction to Chinese assistance . Although he had called his foreign policies as balanced relationship at the beginning , Ayub didn't execute it in fact, and what he had done was intimating America extremely . Now , he decided to "go back to his balanced relationship again", namely developing diplomatic relations with each power balancedly , which made China-Pakistan relations on the decline . In 1971 , the east-Pakistan crisis incited the third war between India and Pakistan . China still gave great support to Pakistan , but not liking what she had done in 1965 . The relations between China and Pakistan began on the realistic road .
