Franchising grew increasingly popular as a method of distribution since the late 1970's in many countries, especially in USA. Franchising in China also grew more popular in these 20 years.Many firms and pupil believe that franchising is one of the best methods of expanding or starting their businesses. Franchising can lower the risks and running costs of expanding or starting a business by following an efficient management method, which invented by Franchiser, and standardizing the products (services).This article describes the history and definition of franchising, case studies, comparison the situation and development between China and other countries and analyses the development of franchising in China.
