The Chinese traditional enterprises based on the meticulous break out of work and large scale production are more and more showing their disadvantages under the new market environment with the characteristics of customerization, intense competition and contingency. This new market condition forces the enterprises to look for some new manufacturing mode in order to improve the productivity, shorten the responding period and cut down the production cost. Originated in Japanese Toyota, and popularized by the manufacturing industry in USA, the Lean Production mode is being regarded as a desired production method by the whole world's manufacturing industry. In the mean time, this mode has been gradually introduced into China during the recent ten years' international business cooperation.The typical Chinese large aviation manufacturing enterprises like AVICⅠ, always have some disadvantages of high-cost, unstable products quality and low management level, due to long time's being controlled by the planning economy system. Meanwhile, long-term ignorance of basic management on manufacturing resources, imitating various fashionable management technologies blindly, lack of systematic research and decision of reform to the core, make the enterprises yield little after a great deal of input. After recognizing self-disadvantages, in order to enforcing the national defence, enhancing competition and developing the international market, AVICⅠstrongly determined to conduct systematically study on Lean Production system by taking the chance of the current international contract cooperation with the Boeing. Hopefully, this advanced system could be pushed forward from the commercial aircraft production area to the military products manufacturing area, and finally to the Lean Production actualization of the whole AVICⅠ,which will undoubtedly improve the overall management condition andcompetition.Based on the systematically study of Lean Production, the writer tries to use the advance of Lean Production in Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Corporation (CAIC) as a practical case, also combined some experience from the other three large aviation manufacturing enterprises affiliated to the AVICⅠ, to make a detailed analysis to the key steps and issues of Lean Production actualization at some certain phases of manufacturing. The above-mentioned is also the basic method and logistic structure of this thesis.The thesis is divided into three parts: The first part is the introduction of the Lean Production system, which concerns the origination, basic principals, system construction and its actualization steps.The second part is the case study. It states the CAIC's trial operation of the lean production system on certain manufacturing processes, and also the other companies' lean production experience. On the basis of these, this part makes a detailed analysis to some key steps and issues during the application of this production mode, including relocation of production cells, reducing the changeover time, and application of the "avoiding error " method etc..The third part combined the current situation of Lean Production in the four enterprises stated in the previous part, makes some approaching and discussion on some subjects which shall take place in Lean Production actualization, like the lean production leadership, team construction, link between the single-piece flow and batch production, combination with MRP, and Lean Production actualization in suppliers etc..
