Yangtze River Delta Economic Openness

Yangtze River Delta is one of the most developed regions in China which includes Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Nantong, Taizhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Huzhou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing, Zhousan, totally 15 cities.Since the economy reform and openness of China, particularly in the recent decade, the development of Shanghai has greatly promoted economy growth of Yangtze River Delta. The land of this area is less than 3 percent that of China, and the number of the population is only 10 percent of China, however, its GDP is nearly one fourth of China.The Yangtze River Delta with Shanghai city as its head and Jiangsu, Zhejiang provinces as its two wings has become the most developed region in economy, technology, and culture in China, and is important in China and the world, and is the one of the six City Group. The opening economy of Yangtze River Delta is also growing rapidly.This paper mainly analyzes the growth trend of the economic openness degree of Yangtze River Delta and discusses if the openness degree is suitable for Yangtze River Delta economy growth. This paper also gives the suggestion to the opening economy development of Yangtze River Delta.
