It is obvious that enterprises are up against the competition of human resource and thus can't hire the suitable employees in the asymmetric information gap between employers and employees. Interview is an effectual way of personnel assessment, which can decrease the risk in the personnel selecting and control the cost effectively. It is popular for more and more enterprises to have recognized the importance of interview as a human resource management tool.The researching of interview lays emphasis primarily now on improving the validity and reliability, and at the same time, however, ignores to calculate the utility that brought by the interview. This affects on the assessment result and enlargement of the cost of enterprises. At present, the budget of the interview is short seriously, so interview can't be made the best use of. Aiming at this a realistic problem, this text give a close analysis for the asymmetric information gap, and grants important meaning of personnel assessment in the process of employment, combining the characteristics of interview. According to the Utility theories, this text contrast analyzes the cost and the profit of interview, and set up the analysis model to calculate the utility of 1 interview. Based on the model analysis, this text demonstrates that the utility of interview for human resource management increases with the value of job and it is essential to guarantee the investment of interview.
