With the hotel industry competing more and more incandescing, it has been a routine difficulty that how to distribute fixed hotel rooms at different class prices facing fluctuating market demand. The reservation department can control and distribute hotel room resources efficiently; market segments make a basis for discriminating prices. However, it cannot be more important considering what are the right and efficient deciding rules to determine the best preservation level for different class price hotel rooms. So, the limitations of classic models of revenue management for hotel practice are analyzed first in this dissertation. Then on the condition that modern revenue management technology is applied in the hotel industry, and on the basis of prevenient research from Littlewood and Pfeifer, a two discount class room deciding rule with overbook and no-show is established through methods of discriminating price theory, optimization theory and marginal revenue theory from Economics according to hotel industry practice. After expounding the mechanism and application method of best discount preservation level, a multi-class discount price deciding rule with diversion (nested price class) is established facing probabilistic fluctuating demand. Finally, a simulation is given to prove the rule exercisable. |
