Tan Sitong is one of six gentleman of WUXU, he wes thirty four years old when he laid down his life for a just cause. His decromatic against feudal and revolutinary spirits affected the people with lofty ideals of future generations. In his short life he left many remarkble works such Rule Words and Treatise on Benevolence and so on. Treatise on Benevolence is the most influential among them. His thoughts involves philosophy, politics, economy, culture, ethics, technology,education, religion and so on. Equality is the main line throughout his ideas, equality is the noticeable sign of his thoughts which are different from other contemporary scholars. Kang You wei is famous for his universal love, Yan Fu is famous for his liberal ideas, but for Tan Sitong, he is known for equility .The write studies his equal thoughts in five parts, including the formation of equality, the theory foundation the content, the characteristics and limited enlightenment. In the first part, the writer analyzes the backgrounds, his experice and the resource of his ideas. Revealing that the formation of his equality ideas has objective condition and subjective conditions, his equality thoughts not only absorb the western scientific and democratic thought but also succed to the Chinese ancient excellent thoughts. In the second part, the writer discusses the foundation of philosophy and human nature of his equality thoughts, benevolence and equality are his thought systems, peace in the world is his humanity view. In the third part, the writer elaborate the contents of the equality thoughts, systematically with historical and logical methods which are united the writer discusses it in politics economy and socity. In the fouth part, the writer summarizes the features of the equality thoughts (enlightened pioneer, put in to practice, contradition)and analyzes the limitation with the methodds of class analysis and historical analysis, In the fifth part, the writer disscusses its enlightenment analyzes his impatient character and the show in his equal thoughts.in the eqality thoughts the consreuction of democrstic politics needs a long time it is impossible to construct it in no time.
