The electric industry of China is a basic industry of the national economy, to develop the national economy in a healthy way; it plays a very important role. In recent years, the high-speed development of the economy has already received the insufficient in supply of electricity , more and more governments,the experts and scholars, pay attention to electric industry. The traditional industry economics scholars mainly concentrate on electric industrial structure, electric industry's conduct and industry's performance , especially studying the industrial structure. Numerous experts and scholars have proposed a lot of constructive suggestions on the electric industry's reform.I studied the researching results of the electric industry in the past synthetically, learned the successful experiences of the foreign developed country. I use the diamond model to research electric industry of China. The diamond model has been used to studying on the exporting industry. It is a new try to use the diamond model to carry on researching the electric industry. That is to expand the scope of application of Potter's diamond mode.Through producing want, demand, relevant to supporting industry, business strategy, enterprise structure and competition, These is four key elements to analyze to power industry., Two auxiliary key elements are government and chance at the same time. To research the existing problems of the electric industry, and to resolve the question, I put forward some relative countermeasures and suggestions. Through the innovation of the key elements in the electric industry's diamond model, it can upgrade the electric industry from the traditional developing stage to the investment direction developing stage.
