Complex Product System Innovation Project Performance Factors

Focusing on the subject of influencing factors on the innovation of complex products and system (CoPS), this paper tries to grope for ways to improve the performance of complex products and system innovation in China by controlling those factors. The whole paper is divided into three sections: theoretical discussion, empirical research and study conclusion.In the section of t theoretical discussion, evolvement and development trend of the research of technology innovation is reviewed, which highlights the fact that complex products and system innovation is a very important research field of product innovation with practical significance. It has influences in the construction of the international competitive of China; also it is the exploration for suitable development policies in the after-scale economy in China. Based on the research of key success factors in product innovation and complex products and system innovation before, and the practice of the complex products and system innovation in China, the author forms the dominate directing idea of the whole paper and puts forward the corresponding theory hypothesis and research model.In the second part, by questionnaire investigation among more than 40 complex products and system suppliants and quantitative analysis of the results, the author concludes totally 12 factors that influence the complex products and system innovation in China in terms of strategy, organization, technology, resources & capacity, and environment. And then further validation of the relationship between those factors and the performance of complex products and system innovation is given, in order to find out the key influencing factors and the model, which constructs the relationship between the influencing factors and innovation performance. The research goes in two stages: the first stage is expert visiting and literature referring, which tries to find out the composing of the performance of complex products and system innovation and some influencing factors, then forming and validating the tentative idea of the research. The second stage is questionnaire investigation and results analysis, which is carried out in the complex products and system suppliers in China.In the last section, the author makes the explanation of the research result and advices on improving the performance of the complex products and system in China.
