The Development Of Global Free Trade Agreement (fta) And China's Strategic Choice

Free trade agreements, as an important part of Global system of multilateral trade, have a huge effect on the trade among countries in regional and global.After 1990's, free trade agreement experienced a rapid progress in both number and size, especially in Asia. In the short future, the Free Trade Agreements will face an even more bright tendency, and will be fulfilled in different sides. We believe it can do great contribution to the development of world economy. Our China as a fresh developing member of world trade organization do need a lot of improvements in many fields. We should take some concerning measures in national level to adapt to the circumstance of the global development of Free Trade Agreements. Only by this means can we keep in pace with the tendency of globalization of economy.According to above, this dissertation can be divided into four parts. In the first part, I begin with the introduce of the circumstance of Free Trade Agreements in 1990's, and then on the base of this I summarize some characters of the modern Free Trade Agreements. The aim of this part is to draw the outline of the structure of Free Trade Agreements. The second part deals with the political and economic reason of the extinct development of Free Trade Agreements in world. The true motivation of countries to sign in Free Trade Agreements may have example effect to China's strategy. The third part can also be put into two secondary segments. According to the analyze of the general effect, I take the Maxico as an example of these effects. This could be a very directly demonstration to our China. It's very useful to settle the relationship of Free Trade Agreements and Global system of multilateral trade in the last part. Not only is the model accepted by theory field be introduced, but also the measures should be taken are promote as a part of conclusions.This dissertation draw some conclusions as follows: first, the Free Trade Agreements have an two-sides effect to the development of global multilateralsystem. But in general, Free Trade Agreements is favorable rather than harmful. The Free Trade Agreements will advance the free trade in global level and promote the regional economic integration progress. Second, although it is late for Asia to join in the Free Trade Agreements, they really have a rapid progress. As an country to be reckoned with, our China should grasp this opptunity and win a place in this field mixed co-operation and competition.The development of Free Trade Agreements is still underway now. the too frequent change of the situation makes this study so difficult that some viewpoint might be immature. Inspite of this, this dissertation still have some innovations: first, present a detailed summary of the circumstance of the regional, multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements. Second, analyze the reason of the development of free trade agreements strategy through political and economic angel, which make the structure more perfect. Third, give rational estimate of the future development tendency of the free trade agreements strategy.
