There lie friendly ties between Israel and Turkey. These two countries are both regional powers in economy and military. Both countries face with complicated disputes, challenges stemming from the Arab world and many unsolved issues in the Middle East. Both countries are unpopular with the Arab states which hold a suspicious attitude toward them. The Cold War has ended, and the situation in the Middle East is changing. America's strategy on the Middle East has been different from what it used to be, which brought affects on the Turkey-America relations. In order to redeem the intimacy between Turkey and America, The Turkey-Israel military arrangement was signed in February, 1996, thus Turkey and Israel became allies. This arrangement would bring a new look to the two countries and be beneficial for them both. This article will analyze the reasons why Turkey and Israel can cooperate and why they lock arms in the mid 1990s from the historical, political, economical, geographic and military aspects.
