The Impact Of Economic Globalization On The Swedish Model

Sweden Welfare Systems have been founded from the beginning of the industrialized countries. Swedish social democrats that run after equality justice and helping each other had developed unique Swedish Model, so Sweden was named as "the model of welfare nations". With the impact of global economy , the development of cross-companies and global economic competition, inside and outside circumstances of the Swedish Model have been changing, which challenged the welfare systems played the role by nations. This thesis begins with the characters of the Swedish Model and analyses the influence came from the global economy so that Swedish government must reform the welfare to suit the new situation. As an opening and perfect capitalism Sweden has met new chance. It has economical benefit and long time welfare tradition that make Sweden insist on the original welfare structure. This thesis consists of the following four parts:First, the thesis analyses the basis of the Swedish Model including the history, theory and the characteristics .The foundation of the Swedish Model was a kind of theoretical exploration and thus was also the trend of development of industrial society .Its characteristics as follows: Swedish government put the cooperation into practice to solve the contradiction between economy and the development of society, carried out the mixed economical policy and got the high welfare and taxation to achieve redistribution and change the inequitable income. This system was a perfect combination between economic development and social justice.Second, global economy challenges the Swedish Model. Swedish Welfare Systems were produced industrial society, which redistributed resource in nation, while global economy has weakened sovereign rights and has reduced tax resources. At the same time, Knowledge economy has produced the structure jobless, which brought much more serious assorted social problems and gave the Swedish welfare systems more pressure.
