"general Agreement On Trade In Services" Study

GATS is currently the most important multilateral agreement of trade in services in the field of international trade in services. This thesis has made an in-depth and systematic analysis and study of this agreement. At first, this thesis makes a brief introduction of the definitions of service, trade in services, international trade in services, the legal status of GATS, its cardinal principles, framework as well as basic contents so as to make everyone have a preliminary understanding of GATS. Then this thesis continues to make an all-round appraisal of GATS from such perspectives as its positive side, negative side as well as the GATS as a whole respectively, which is conducive to a penetrating and accurate mastery of the benefits and drawbacks, and success and failure of the agreement in a macro-dimension and micro-dimension. This thesis follows with a detailed exposition of the status quo and trend of the development of international trade in services as well as the development and perfection of GATS. In closing, this thesis stresses on expounding the significance of GATS to China, its influence on China as well as the various countermeasures that should be adopted by China.
