Administrative Personality

Administration personality is the subjectivity perspective of administration ethics study. The basic position of this perspective is that it admits and approves the moral initiative of administrators. Administration personality, as the internal stipulation distinguishing administrators from other social members, is the ethical unification and value realization of administration qualification, administration specification, administration moral character and administration manner. Its essential characteristics lie in its publicity, compulsoriness, responsibility and initiative.Different types of administration personality appeared during the process of human's pursuit for self-recognition, self-perfection and self-realization in the history of administration management development. Typological analysis of administration personality from the perspective of individual psychological structure, moral development trend and administration mode evolution can lead to the exploration of the formation and development pattern of administration personality and the channels and approaches of its cultivation and perfection.Administration personality is the dialectical unity and function realization of human individualization and socialization in their value practice. On one hand, it performs the function of value orientation, motivation fusion and behavior regulation for the subject itself; on the other hand, it has the function of encouragement, maintenance and orientation for its surrounding environment. Its function limits are the efficiency of administration personality, the acceptability of function object and the appropriateness of moral environment.For a long time, "systematists" only believe that "good system" can make "good people", unwilling to believe the morality and conscience of administrators, whereas "environment determinists" are subject to environment pressure, hence ignoring the ethical initiative of the subject. The various serious problems brought about by the twist or loss of the subjectivity in both Chinese tradition society and western modern society should be regarded as the attention-meriting warning. The administration ethics construction in contemporary China must surpass "systematism" and "environmentalism" and head for "subjectivism". The essential ideaof subjectivism lies in the promotion of the self-conscious, self-initiative and self-disciplinary spirit of the subject so as to reshape and perfect administration personality.
