After the cold war, international situation changes greatly. The growing-ups of big countries have aroused the world attention and many investigators begin to consider and do research on them. China and India are both Asia developing countries with growing-up backgrounds. In order that I can share my little understandings about India with the people who are interested, I try to write this paper.Firstly this paper introduced the strategic adjustments of India to foreign countries. The introduction includes the background and the characters of the adjustments. The characters fall on that India is always in pursuit of external strategies with practicality, omni-direction, independence and omni-levels after cold war.Then, this paper probes into how the Indians behave after the cold war till now in the fields of politics, economics, military affairs and technologies. Concerning politics, India calls for to balance the external strategies and establish peaceful cooperative relations with the big and influential countries, such as America, Russian, China, Japan, UN and the Southeast Asia countries. On economics, in order to become stronger and powerful, India brings forward diplomatic economic strategy, mainly executing open policy, foreign trade cooperation and energy sources diplomacy. On military, India steers to the policy of "being arbitrary in south Asia, controlling Indian sea, being a top-ranking country". To make true of these aims, India actualizes five strategic transfers, i.e., from passive defence to active aggression, from regional aggression to regional restricted deterrent, from land strategy to sea strategy, from routine strategy to nuclear strategy, from unilateral military dependence to omni-directjonal military cooperations. On technologies, India pays much attention to develop with other countries the technological exchanges and cooperation. They set down technological plans and relative policies.At last, this paper analyzed the influences of all the Indian strategies to China and the countermeasures China should take. There are five suggestions: (1) to stop where we should stop, but timely answer challenges. (2) to strengthen economic forces, seek common points while reserving differences.
