India's the dream of Great Power after its independence were decided by the development of India's domestic conditions and international environments, especially by the Indian judgments of the Cold War' s natures. Rely on the superior position of geo-centre, stronger and stronger national cohesion, India seizes a historical opportunity while developing domestic economy steadily and revolutionary military capabilities, India tries to establish itself as a diplomatic player on the world stage. By investigating India's strategy and its advantages and disadvantages of its strategy, there are not only theoretical meanings, but also reference meanings for rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The paper is divided into three parts. At first, introduce India's Great Power strategy, and then investigate its restricting factors from domestic conditions and international environments.Part one studies the formation and development of India's Great Power strategy in three aspects. After the cold war, India as a "Giant Elephant" dominated South Asia, but in order to improve regional affinity, India still makes a combined use of favors and disfavors to Pakistan, gives other near countries interests; India develops naval force in a more cost-effective manner, Controls the sea area of the littoral country of the Indian Ocean and repels other powers get involved the Indian Ocean, lets its fleet cruise on the ocean. In order to promote its International Status, India launches multilateral diplomacy, India and the U.S.A reach a milestone and enjoy the treatment of ally; India has established "the strategic partnership" with Russia and the political, military connection between two countries is closer than before; India has relieved and repaired the relation with China, and bilateral trade is growing quickly; There is greater progress with ASEAN and EU, trade and investment is active and set up the dialogue and cooperation mechanism. India advocates the reform of the United Nations Security Council actively, running for the Permanent Member of Security Council.Part two mainly analyzes decisive influence factors of India's Great Power strategy by four angles of view: human resources, economic development, political stability and military developing steps.The population explosion and high illiteracy rate of India are well known, its huge population base and fast growth rate form enormous pressure to natural resources, grain, education, employment, it is greatly hindering the steady and development of India's society.The shortage and backwardness of the infrastructure made a wound on India's...
