"Party's commemorative activities are the new ken of the study on thehistory of Communist Party of China". Therefore, in terms of theory, the researchto Party's commemorative activities has started the studies on the history ofChinese communist party , filling the blank space of the domain. At present, athome and abroad, there are few special studies on commemorative activities ofCCP. There are only some thesises scattered describing memorizing process, butnot any book and they have not made the all-round summary to Party's variousoccasions in the past commemorative activities studying at all. Some are just fordescribing, only listing the commemorative activities and their contents, withouta macro grasp of ever-been commemorative activities.And some even meannothing but commemorate.This article specially puts all the commemorative activities together forhistorical research and illustrates the experience and means of CCP'scommemorative activities and their theoretical and realistic meaning by fourparts.Firstly, it is on the reason of CCP's commemorative activities. There are alot of causes. Generally speaking, they include the need of realistic socialdevelopment, the need of CCP's self build-up, the need of keeping historicalmemory, the need of educating the public and the need of concluding thehistorical experiences, etc. Secondly, it is on the types of the CCP'scommemorative activities.They focused on the souvenir of important historicalfigure such as Lenine, Mao Zedong and so on or on the important historicalaccidents such as October Revolution, Anti-Japanese War and long expedition oron the souvenir of improtant holidays such as 'July First' and 'July Seventh',etc.Thirdly, it is on the ways and characteristics of CCP's commemorative activities.Three steps are included in this part. The first is to analyse meeting ways such ascommemorating meeting, conversation meeting, assembly, discussion meetingand entertainment party. The functions are political,social and cultural.The political functions are embodied in strengthening politicalpower, maintaining political ruling, creating political participation andforwarding political socialization.The social functions are embodied in socialidentity, social unity, social intergrity and social control.The cultural funtionsare embodied in broadcasting CCP's ideological form, social memory socialeducation and cultural identity.However, the commemorative activities are anopportunity for the CCP to maintain its development and lead the people to carryon the modern socalization establishment.
