A Study On The Commemorative Activities Of The Reform And Opening Up Of The Chinese Communist Party In The Context Of Political Identity

The various commemorative activities organised by the Communist Party of China are part of the content of education to strengthen the history of the Party,the history of New China,the history of reform and opening up,and the history of socialist development,and are also an important way to sum up the reform experience and build social consensus.General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to commemorative activities,pointing out that "some ceremonial systems should be established and standardised,and various forms of commemorative celebrations should be organised to spread mainstream values and enhance people’s sense of identity and belonging." Against the background of accelerated social transformation,the formation and maintenance of political identity for members of society as a whole is facing new opportunities and challenges.The great revolution of reform and opening up is an important target point for the Party to carry out commemorative activities,and this paper has certain practical significance in studying the commemorative activities of the Communist Party of China for reform and opening up from the perspective of political identity.This paper focuses on the four "10th" anniversary congresses organised by the Party Central Committee,as well as the large-scale thematic exhibitions and special cultural and artistic events held on those occasions,and is divided into four chapters.The paper firstly takes the basic concepts of political identity and commemorative activities as its starting point,and further explores the connection between reform and opening-up and political identity.Secondly,focusing on the commemorative activities for reform and opening up held by the Party Central Committee,by observing the three main forms of activities,namely commemorative congresses,thematic exhibitions and thematic literary activities,the paper argues that there is an evolutionary trend in the organisation of activities from spontaneous to conscious,from individual to collective,from combined commemoration with the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee to separate commemoration,and the transmutation characteristics of unity in theme,diversity in carrier and reflection of mainstream thinking.Finally,by analyzing the challenges of the iterative communication media of commemorative activities,the influx of diversified cultural trends in society and the identity crisis of reform and opening-up at home and abroad,the paper argues that the commemorative activities of reform and opening-up of the CPC in the new era need to tell a good Chinese story,expand the carrier of commemorative activities,adhere to the direction of socialism,counter historical nihilism,and respond to the requirements of the development of the times and follow the road of reform and opening-up.The road of reform and opening up should be followed.
