My dissertation is an interpretation to a text of Zhang Junmai——the NewRepublican Constitution Comments of German, which is mainly discussing ZhangJunmai's constitutional thought. There are five parts in this dissertation.In the instruction, the author briefly introduces two themes which the moderntimes intellectuals confronted: thought enlightenment and national salvation. Mr.Zhang proposed to save the nation from destruction through the constitutionalism.In the first section of the main body, the author analyzes Mr. Zhang'sunderstanding of the Weimar Constitution. He thought the essence of constitutionwhich manifest in the system building of the Weimar Constitution have: unifiedspirit, neutrality of the national view and national's parliamentary politics.In the second section of the main body, the author gives interpretation to theconsciousness of "Chinese problems", which was embodied in the NewRepublican Constitution Comments of German. In Mr. Zhang's opinion, the issuewhich was called "Chinese problems" was there was no good constitution inChina was rooted from lower intelligence of Chinese people. At the same time,because Mr. Zhang appreciated the system building of the Weimar Constitution, hehas designed systems which were similar to the Weimar Constitution in the twodraft constitutions. Under circumstance of lower intelligence of Chinese people,such system designs were his "second good" choice.In the third section of the main body, the author dissertates the opinion ofpolitical system embodied in the article of Mr. Zhang. He thought that thefoundation of politics was national character. The author tries to explain the viewof liberalism politics is childish by taking Karl Schmitt for example.In the last section, the author reflects the way of saving nation from destructionby Chinese modern liberalism intellectuals.
