Kunming Community Policing Residents Satisfaction Study

With the further development of social polity and economy, the breaking of outdated society layout has disordered society itself. After having been professionalized and better equipped for immediately emergence and service responding, some countries introduced a concept of "Non-increased improvement" -The theory of community policing. It utilizes and prompts the effort and anxiousness of the whole society toward community safety. Community policing service practice has been started since 2000. Many helpful researches and practices were carrying on in lots of places. However, most of them were based on policing service itself, lack of studying of service objects. The key to a successful community policing is continuously improving public evaluations and satisfactions. Therefore, it is very important to start the study based on public satisfaction.Our study was taking residents of Kumming City as the clients. Based on the community policing service theory and satisfaction theory researches, from public requirement point of view, the questionnaire has been on. SPSS statistic software and means of certain statistic theories such as mean and deviation help locating the needs of policing service for residents, 5 essentialities directing qualified policing service and the relation between qualified policing and public recognizing. Comparison between the result and policing service has been made, and improving suggestions has been provided.Conclusion:1. The principal of "Criminal preventing" complies with the safety need of community residents.2. Common evaluations for policing services from different communities are similar and can be used to guide a better service.3. Five essential directions of qualified policing service are positively related to public satisfactions. The weight of affection from great to less is as result, existing, efficiency, work and visualization.4. Adjusting the policing service structure and policies to maximize the public satisfactions can solve the contradiction between policing and public satisfactions.
