Urban Laid-off Workers And Political Participated In The Study

Urban laid-off workers are a main political body in Chinese political life, which can not be ignored. Their participation in political affairs is an organic, important component in citizens'political participation in China. As an example, a certain community in cities, that is Community of East JiaoChang Road, Kunming, Yunnan Province, is quoted to analyze current situation of urban laid-off workers'political participation, its characteristics and its influential factors and so on. Then some policies and suggestions are put forward to solve existing problems in their political participation.As a whole, this thesis describes current situation of urban laid-off workers'political participation in the following aspects: voting and electing, joining parties and political organizations, voluntary contacting and non-institutionalization participating. On that basis, the author summarizes the fundamental characteristics of urban laid-off workers'political participation, which are as the follows: positive and passive attitudes exist at the same time; there are different levels in their participation process; participation behavior does not match economic situation; there are some blindness in participation ways; there are limited participation ways to use; there are more passive participation and less positive participation in the process and so on. There are a lot of factors which influence urban laid-off workers'political participation, which are social and economic status, political system, traditional politics culture and individual qualities. Then, some suggestions are put forward to improve urban laid-off workers'political participation, which are also shown as follows: promoting the all-round development of economy and strengthening material foundation of urban laid-off workers'political participation; quickening the reform of political system, establishment & expanding and improving urban laid-off workers'political participation in ordered ways; developing culture establishment and making great efforts to improve individual qualities of urban laid-off workers in political participation and so on.
