As the basis of modern democracy, the democratic level and improvement of one country's electoral system not only indicates the realization of people's status as masters of the society, but also determines and influences the contents and quality of democracy in this country. As a socialist country, China should focus more on development and improvement of its domestic democracy by improving its electoral system. The paper mainly falls into four parts: the summarization of electoral system, the fundamental theory resource and formation of Chinese socialist electoral system, the current situation and existing problems and the reform and improvement of Chinese socialist electoral system. The electoral system makes up an important part of Chinese socialist democracy and plays a important role in pushing the process of Chinese socialist democracy. The establishment of Chinese socialist electoral system has its historical inevitability—It was based on the combination of relevant classical theories of our revolutionary teachers Marx, Engels and Lenin and Chinese actual electoral practice. Generally, the Chinese electoral system has entered a new era of development and progress since its establishment. On the other hand, with the step-by-step development of political and economic reforms, Chinese social electoral system has displayed its deficiency. For example, the disorder in election and legislation practice, the deficiency of election procedure, lack of practicability, poor organization of electoral system itself, etc. In the last chapter "the discussion on reform and improvement of Chinese socialist electoral system", I believe that to improve Chinese social electoral system, the following three issues are essential: improving electoral law, upgrading the level of direct election and enlarging the scope of direct election and improving the election procedure.
