Citizenship And Participation In Civic Culture, And Chinese Political Development

The core of citizen's consciousness stems from the citizens'their identity awareness. There will not be corresponding citizen's consciousness and even cannot build an effective participatant civic culture without the understanding of citizenship. It will lose citizen's consciousness if we confuse the concept of citizenship and other status. Only nationals of a country have integrated citizen's consciousness, will they become eligible citizens. Only nationals generally have a complete citizen's consciousness and civil characters, can we build a reasonable and effective participatant civic culture, and a mature civil society with self-government capacity can be established so as to promote the country's political development. Therefore, cultivating and fostering a genuine civil society can be said to be the foundation of constructing the civil society of China and promoting the country's political development.Firstly, this paper briefs development requirements and objectives of three levels in china's political development respectively and taking the basic level-citizens as the object of this paper. Then, this paper expounds on the historical development of western citizenship and summarizes the framework and content of the establishment and development of citizenship. In the following section, based on the summary of the previous framework and content , this paper proposes that constructing participatant civic culture is the most basic condition to promote the political development of our country. At last, it analyzes the problems and causes encountered in the building of participatant civic culture and tries d to put forward countermeasures.
