The New Rural Cultural Construction

In the period of social and economic transformation, building a new and harmonious socialist countryside is an important measure for deepening the reformation of the countryside. It is also a request for carrying out the scientific outlook on development and building an affluent society, and an effective artifice for promoting the advance of rural society as well as the only way for realizing the modernization in China.Building a new socialist countryside is a synthetic and systematic project. In this project, the cultural construction is a chief component for building a new socialist countryside. It would promote the socialist ideological and ethical progress, turn out new-style farmers and accelerate rural advance. At the same time it could provide some supports in brains and guarantee the social and economic development in the countryside.This paper is made up of three parts. In the first part of the paper, some theoretical practical issues on cultural construction are mentioned. In the second part, the basic features and actualities about rural cultures in Wenzhou area are discussed, showing different characteristics under the different historic and cultural traditions and its having produced unlikeness from other geoponic area in China. The third part is concentrated on the analyzing the positive and negative elements in cultural development in Wenzhou area, concluding that the key point is that the farmers should change their life style and the conception on culture.
