A hot wave of "reading and reciting ancient Chinese classics" started at the end of the last century in our country, some scholars and educators have been appealing the children to read and recite the Chinese classics in the schools, kindergartens or private schools for the reviving of traditional Chinese culture. They have encouraged and organized children to read the ancient classics, especially the Confucian classics. Millions of children have already been taking part in the activities. Just after the upsurge emerged, the debate about it followed immediately. Some people believed that reading and reciting the Confucian classics could help to inherit our country's traditional culture, to promote the forming of the children's good personality, and so on.; others argued that the essence and dregs coexisted in the ideology of Confucian classics , it is not helpful for the formation of the modern citizen. Also some people thought that the teaching method of stuffed-duck will certainly harm the children's intellectual curiosity , the critical spirit and exploration spirit development, hinder the formation of the custom of using the scientific method to obtain knowledge and so on. All these tit-for-tat debates refer to the trend of the development of the hot wave and to millions of children' spirit healthy who are taking part in it, so we must pay more attention to it.In the first part of the thesis, the writer points out the reasons and the significance of the studying on the "hot wave of reading and reciting the Confucian classics" and then introduces briefly about the difference views in printed papers written by scholars on this tops, such as the aim of reading and reciting the ancient Chinese classics, the selection of the classics for reading and reciting, the teaching methods of reading and reciting classics. the writer illustrate the ways of studying used in this tops study at the end of this part.In the second part, the writer described carefully about the main performance and the social impact of the hot wave of reading classics in the school, family and society. And then illustrate the positive and negative sides influence on the ideology and the behavior of the children.In the third part of the thesis, the writer analyses the primary elements that produce the hot wave of reading classics, such as the requirement of the national spirit support while competing among the countries of soft power in the world, the need to exploit more and more resources of morality in the condition of the economic of the market, and abused by some scholars for their owe purposes. But these factors have different effect on it.At the last part of the thesis, the writer advises some suggests for the health development of the hot wave of reading and reciting classics.: we should guide the development of the hot wave to the right direction; choose the classics which adapting to the development of our modern society to read and recite by children; choose the scientific ways of teaching and reading the classics, do well in the propagating the right culture policies and management of the institutions which organizing the activities of reading classics.
