The report of the18th CPC National Congress pointed out:Developing a Strong Socialist Culture in China, must work hard to equip the whole Party with the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Which put forward higher requirements to the leading cadres who are the party member about their marxism theory quality. Researching the leading cadres’ reading issue about the marxism classics in the new period, has important theoretical and realistic significance to deepen the leading cadre’s to theoretical understanding about the marxism, promote the construction of Chinese characteristic socialism theory system, improve the leading cadres’ confidence of the road and theory.This paper starting from the position of the historical materialism and dialectical materialism, survey scientifically the marxism classics reading history of our party, mainly through questionnaire, literature reaserch law, comparative method and other methods. Based on concluting the historical experience and basic characteristic, this paper focuses on analyzing the status quo of leading cadres’ classic reading and its causes. This paper overall summarized the objective situations, including that the leading cadres’ classic reading consciousness is relatively weak, the classic reading environment is poor in the party, and the leading cadres’ classic reading are insufficient. Put forward the constraints and influences, due to the negative factors from China’s traditional culture, the negative factors from market economy such as interest, equivalent exchange, liberalism. The own subjective and objective factors of the party member.This paper clarify the concept about leading cadres’ marxism classics "reading force", deeply analysis the cause of insufficient about the leading cadres’ reading force, and delibrate how to improve the leading cadres’ classic reading force from the individual, the party’s basic-level organization and social forces. Put forward some important ways,that leading cadres must set up the scientific idea which is "lifelong reading", explore reading methods which according with individual’s actual, adhere to the good style of study which is the theory with practice; We must strengthen the classic reading fundamental and soft environment of constructiongrass-roots party organizations; Must be effectively exert the functions of the social reading resources and the group of intellectuals, and draw lessons from foreign experience.
