On The Improvement Of The Wto Dispute Settlement Mechanism

With China's entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001, WTO Dispute Settlement, as the important and even core program, has become the hot topics among professionals.Beginning from the origin and historical development of WTO Dispute Settlement, this thesis not only concludes the programs and characteristics of WTO Dispute Settlement, but also proves that it has become one of the most important ways of solving trade disputes peacefully, and provides adequate protection in law for each WTO party.Despite the fact, some defects and insufficiency are still found in WTO Dispute Settlement after practical application. This thesis mainly lists four defects and tries to find appropriate settlement."Know the enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles with no danger of defeat." The purpose of knowing and understanding WTO Dispute Settlement is to use it by ourselves. This thesis thinks that five aspects should be promoted according to the national condition, policy and economic development, so as to achieve the goal of fully utilizing the WTO Dispute Settlement.
