The 20th century, late 80s early 90s, the cold war has ended up, significant changes happened in the international community, have entered a period of transformation in depth: barriers to be broken after the polarization, economic globalization has entered a new stage. That the economic globalization is being in the ascendant, contacts all the countries in the world in course of especially rapidly and intensely have made the interdependent relations between every country get hitherto unknown strengthening together; . On the other hand , the region principle rapid expansion and deepening, expands and arrives at each the world area. And, European Union integration in further thorough, the European Union constitution is producing in process. In North America , the North American Free Trade Area has been put into practice for ten years, the Free Trade Area of the Americas launches, the entire region economically growing together. In Asia , China rises as a new economical powerful country , and implements the active foreign policy ,devotes in the region communal development, has had the formidable positive effect to the East Asian integration. The globalization one aspect makes between the country the mutual interdependence and the restriction further deepens, the national common interest increases, has the large-scale war's possibility to reduce; Another aspect also makes the contradiction of each other to be more complex. This demands various countries occur in each other is contradictory, needs to choose one kind of non-resistance the struggle form--"compromise"to come to resolve or lay down the divergent.Based on the above thoughts,this thesis chooses the topic--compromise.With the backgroud of the international society from Cold War and in accordance with great historic events in international politics ,this thesis attempts to define the concept and features of Compromise and then analyzes the rational values of compromise from the perspectives of necessity and possibility .After that ,combining with the events of compromise that the two parties perfomed in US-Soviet hegenmony ,the thesis explains further the principles and measurement relations of using compromise ,and at last argues the relationship of compromise and harmonious world, combining with the characteristics of the time .
