State sovereignty is one of the basic princinples of public international law and is the source of many international political, economic and military disputes. This paper analyze the history of the concept of sovereignty and its situation in the modern world. At last I discuss the trend of the concept of sovereignty in connection with the democracy and human right law.This paper aims to narrate the history of the concept sovereignty, and claims democratic sovereignty, and focus on its rule in modern state politics. There are four parts: the first chapter introduces the origin of the concept of sovereignty and the theory of absolute sovereignty with two great thinkers, Bodin, Hobbes, and Jonh Locke, Rouseau's theory of People's Sovereignty. The second chapter discusses the rule of sovereignty in state constitutionism and its practise in United States and Britain. The third chapter discusses sovereignty in the context of international law, its influence on international human rights law and its future. In the conclusion, I analyze the relation of sovereignty and democracy and claims the concept of democratic sovereignty.
