On The Establishment Of A Chinese Lawyer Services Under The GATS Framework Of The New Order

Lawyer's service, in brief, it means legal service provided by the lawyers. Because of the conditions of the political systems the languages and the cultures, traditional lawyer's service is limited in the internal area. However in the wake of the globalization of world economy, lawyer's service has gradually changed into a commodity, transcended the geographical restriction and going global. As a result the trade in lawyer's service comed into being. General Agreement on Trade in Service is an international legal document which is used to regulate all kinds of trade in service. In this agreement according to the reality of lawyer's service in their own countries the member states promised to open their legal service in varying degrees. Along with the rapid growth of economy and the deepgoing of reform and opening up in China more and more multinational corporations come to invest also many domestic enterprises join into the international market. As a result a lot of requirements about lawyer's service are proposed. Therefore China also promised to open the lawyer's service but with some restrictions about the practice of foreign lawyers. But in true because of some economic interests parts of the foreign lawyers breaked the limits and created some conflicts with internal lawyers. In my opinion, the lawyer's service system in our country should be properly adjusted. And we should further Open up the lawyer's service to consistent with the economic level.
