Mongolia, one of the two important northern neighbouring states of China, was once an integral part of China's sovereign land and closely connected with the history of China. Due to its strategic location and linkage to China, Mongolia was, is and will be continuously inviting the deep attention and concern of the leaders and even the common masses of China. The dissertation here is focused on the Sino-Mongolian relations between 1949 and 1965 and is to discuss the open communications and the obstacles in their widely-covered fields including politics, economics, culture, by digesting related research works on the Sino-Mongolian relations and exploring the tremendous declassified archives in the Archives belonging to the Ministry of China Foreign Affairs.Mongolia obtained its independence with the help of Russians, declaring its separation from a weak China. And Soviet Union had been played an influential role in the communications of Sino-Mongolia.The great friendship between China and Soviet Union and the increasing strength of China encouraged the wide-field communications between China and Mongolia since the two states established an official diplomatic relationship, especially in the field of labour assistance China offered to Mongolia. Because of the deepening gulf between China and Soviet Union and the inherited fear of a strong China, Mongolia finally chose to stand on the side of Soviet Union, dropped its friendship with China, and combined with Soviet Union together to be hostile toward China.
